Inside Iran’s digital world – even Obama was there (PHOTOS)

Despite the burden of sanctions and limitations, Iranians have endeavored for years to offer their own domestically made products and tablets.

However, their Russian and Chinese allies have often lent a hand. Tehran’s 6th International Digital Media Fair and Festival kicked off in Musallah on October 4, and turned into an opportunity to preach the country’s government-backed values while lashing the so-called Western propaganda.

Institutes from nearly twenty countries had sent their representatives to the fair. Prominent Iranian news websites and semi-official news agencies had their own booths.

“The American president’s website in a country where the US has no embassy,” one banner read with Obama’s photo on. His face could be seen in every corner, not far from those of Osama Bin Laden and Hassan Nasrallah.
