In the small stone desert of Agafay, some 40 kilometres outside Marrakesh, a globetrotting western couple have set up the first of four planned unique tourist accommodations. The camp is moved some five kilometres as the seasons change.
The 25 m2 tents are elegantly decorated with cotton materials, Berber mats and oriental cushions. Showers and toilets are available in separate tents. The views are spectacular with the snowy Atlas Mountains providing a majestic backdrop.
The list of activities includes open-air film projection, paragliding, desert buggy driving, mountain trekking as well as camel riding and traditional hammam in a nearby village.
