The US, French and British foreign ministers will meet in Paris on Monday for talks on Syria and a UN Security Council resolution forcing Bashar al-Assad’s regime to give up its chemical weapons, US and French officials said.
US Secretary of State John Kerry, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius — who cancelled a visit to Mongolia for the talks — and British Foreign Secretary William Hague will attend the working lunch.
Kerry “will meet with French Foreign Minister Fabius and UK Foreign Secretary Hague on Monday, September 16,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, confirming information from the French foreign ministry.
“While in Paris, Secretary Kerry will also meet with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal,” she added.
Kerry will return to Washington on Monday, September 16.
