Tunisian leaders fail again to break deadlock on premiership

Tunisia’s ruling Islamists and the opposition failed Monday to agree on a new prime minister to steer the country out of a political crisis and talks have now been suspended indefinitely, the mediator said.

“We have decided to suspend the national dialogue until there are favourable grounds for talks to succeed,” said Houcine Abassi, head of the UGTT union federation which is mediating the crisis.
