Israeli army to probe alleged killing of Palestinian teen

The Israeli army said Thursday night military police would investigate the reported killing of a Palestinian teen during a clash near the West Bank city of Ramallah earlier in the day.

Palestinian news agency Maan said Bahaa Samir Badir, 13, was shot in the chest as troops raided the village of Beit Laqiya and died later in a Ramallah hospital.

An army spokeswoman told AFP Israeli forces had encountered a riot in Beit Laqiya and that, “while they were exiting the village, rioters hurled Molotov cocktails at the forces.”

“They responded to the threat with live fire,” she said, adding that “reports of a dead Palestinian are being reviewed. A military police investigation will commence.”
