WATCH: Bassem Youssef has the best possible response to “the evil bastards”

"When we laugh and do what we do here tonight, those evil bastards lose," Youssef said at the International Emmy Awards.

The Egyptian comedian, now a resident in the US after his popular show was shut down, is the first Arab to host the International Emmy Awards. His introductory speech went viral on social media, particularly among audiences in the Middle East. In response to the brutalities committed by the terror group Daesh, or ISIS, Youssef praised the ceremony as a celebration of the human race’s capacity to inspire and heal. And by laughing, he said, “those evil bastards lose”.
