Labor raids revive Palestinian rights questions

The question of Palestinian refugees’ rights in Lebanon had been largely pushed to the back burner in the years since the beginning of the Syrian conflict and influx of Syrian refugees to the country. But the question made a dramatic return to the forefront of public debate in recent weeks, after the Labor Ministry began a crackdown on undocumented foreign workers that caught up Palestinians as well as Syrians and others working without work permits. The crackdown sparked weeks of mass protests.
